Nobel Peace Prize laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus has warmly congratulated this year’s Nobel Peace Prize winner Narges Mohammadi Machado for her relentless struggle for human rights, women’s empowerment, and freedom of expression.

In a statement shared on Friday, Yunus praised Machado’s courage and moral strength, describing her recognition as “a victory for justice and humanity.”

> “Winning the Nobel Peace Prize is not just an honor, it carries a global responsibility,” Yunus said. “Machado’s fight reminds the world that peaceful resistance and compassion can bring lasting change.”

Professor Yunus, who received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006 for his groundbreaking work with microcredit and poverty alleviation through Grameen Bank, said that every Peace Laureate shares a common belief — peace cannot exist without justice and human dignity.

He further called on world leaders and international organizations to ensure the safety and freedom of all human rights defenders around the globe.

> “True peace can only be achieved when justice and equality prevail,” Yunus emphasized.

The Nobel Committee announced this year’s Peace Prize earlier this month, honoring Machado for her fearless activism in defending human rights and promoting women’s voices despite imprisonment and threats.

Yunus concluded his message with hope, saying that Machado’s courage will continue to inspire millions worldwide to stand up for peace and human rights.
